How does #Bezos achieve so much?
So many authors, gurus, and established business leaders have long established the pattern of writing down lofty goals. I am a big fan of #4discipline and #jimcollins work of Big Hairy Audacious Goals. But just having a a Big Hairy Audacious Goal is nothing, if you don’t realistically understand what it takes to get there.
In the recent #Bezosletter to stockholders, he outlined how he sets goals and why makes it so special. Bezos said: "To achieve high standards yourself or as part of a team, you need to form and proactively communicate realistic beliefs about how hard something is going to be.”
"To achieve high standards yourself or as part of a team, you need to form and proactively communicate realistic beliefs about how hard something is going to be.” - Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO
Understanding what is hard, and planning for that is essential.
Faking it until you make it is not the way to be productive. You need to face it until you make it.
His sentiment is echoed by other high achiever like #GrantCardone how has suggested you should take actions 10X greater than you think are necessary to achieve your goals. Goal achievement is always conditional on the level of action you take. You can checkout his book The 10X Rule, I highly recommend it).
